CANBERRA, April 27

The debate on equipment concluded in the House of Representatives today after the defeat of an amendment moved by Mr. Fadden. The amendment was that immediate arrangements should be made by the Government for a committee representing all parties in Parliament to visit the operational areas. It was defeated by 34 votes to 18. The voting was on party lines.
