IN THREE RAIDS
GREAT DAMAGE DONE
B29S' BLASTING OF JAPAN
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) Rec. 9 a.m. NEW YORK, March 14. The three latest raids on Tokio, Nagoya, and Osaka destroyed a total of 24 square miles of vital Japanese war industries for the loss of four SuperFortresses, says the Associated Press correspondent on Guam. One 829 was lost in the Osaka raid and three made emergency landings on Iwo Jima.
i The crews saw night fighters, but the Japanese avoided action. Tokio radio announced that fires were burning in Osaka nine hours after the raid, but the majority were under control. The radio added that the House of Peers discussed urgent relief measures today. Members representing Tokio, Nagoya, and Osaka ■complained that the Government's airraid plans were inadequate and urged the appointment of an over-all airraid relief administration comprising civilians and Government officials.
