SUPPLIES FROM CONTINENT Rec. 9 a.m. LONDON, December 18.
Belgian and French factories have contracted to manufacture 6,500,000 dollars' worth of mortars for the American army to reduce the demands on home man-power and shipping. Fifteen Continental firms are making tyre recaps to meet the rubber shortage and also batteries and parts for jeeps and machine-guns. German weapons and ammunition captured in France are also being turned against the enemy.
