IDENTITY MISTAKEN
SINKING OF NAZI HOSPITAL SHIP

The sinking of the German hospital ship Tubingen in the Adriatic after the interception of the Tubingen and another hospital ship, the Gradisca, and the removal of all wounded, which had been announced by the enemy radio, was explained on Tuesday" in an official announcement issued by the Mediterranean Allied Air Forces, writes a correspondent in Italy. The sinking of the Tubingen was due to mistaken identity, and a full inquiry is proceeding. The official announcement states that the two German hospital ships, which were in the course of evacuating German sick and wounded from Salonika to Trieste, were intercepted and the wounded on board were made prisoner, in accordance with our rights
