. T*lf cold weather being experienced in Wellington seems to be general throughout New Zealand. In Auckland yesterday there was hail and cold squally rain, and there was hail also in neighbouring districts.- No damage is reported, but the wintry spell is interfering with hay-making and lamb shearing. The unseasonable weather has caused a suspension of harvesting in the Rotorua district, and the time of 53 soldiers who were sent there has not been utilised.nearly to the extent hoped for. Falling snow and a falling barometer went together in Greymouth yesterday. At 6 a.m. the barometer registered 29.26 in (991 millibars), and three hours later it had advanced only one millibar and was still unsteady. Rain fell at Wataroa, Westland, on 24 days jm November, the total being 18 02in ! The total rainfall to date this year is 181.99 in, compared' with 141.85 in forthe, corresponding period of. 1943. Wataroa is 67 miles south of Hokitika
