'WASHINGTON* December 1,
Mr. Dean Acheson, an Assistant Secretary of State, told, the' House committee on' post-war economic policy that the United States Government hoped; to reach an early understanding with the leading commercial' nations, first, to eliminate all forms of discriminatory treatment in international commerce; secondly, to make exchange restrictions on commercial transactions unnecessary, thus fully implementing the Bretton Woods financial agreements; thirdly, to achieve a <progressive elimination of quotas, embargoes, and prohibitions on exports and imports; fourthly, to reduce Customs tariffs; fifthly, to make fair rules for trade; and, sixthly, to create an international trade organisation to study problems and recommend practical solutions.
