FATALITY ON EXCURSION
P.A. ASHBURTON, This Day. Raymond A. Scammel, postman, aged 23, died in hospital as the result of a fall of 40 feet over the ledge at Sharplin's Falls yesterday. He was one of a party from the Post and Telegraph Social Club spending the day at the falls, which are 30 miles from Ashburton. He had to be carried for two miles over a difficult bush track, part
