VENLO SECTOR

LITTLE PROGRESS

Rec. 11 aon. RUGBY, Nov. 22. The northern and southern arms of the British drive towards Venlo made little progress today against the stubborn defences of Sevenum in the north and Baarlo in the south, says a correspondent at the Twenty-first Army Group headquarters. The same stubbornness is being shown around the village of Ainerika. The nearest point of advance to Venlo is three miles away. An attack launched today against a small pocket of Germans at Roermond, north of the River Maas, succeeded, the enemy being eliminated. Our ' troops have not crossed the river.—B.O.W.
