MINIATURE RIFLES
Owing to the inclemency of the weather there was a small attendance of members at last week's shoot held by the Public Service, Island Bay Home Guard-(Reserve) and Social Security Club. One member scored the double possible, 30 and a-70. Tho own-start competition was won by V; Wilson. Leading scores: Public Service, V. Wilson, 90-88; Island Bay H.G. (R.), B. L. White, S9-SG; H. R. White, SI; Social Security, A. N. Boag, S4-83. The Melrose Home ■ Guard (Reserve) Club held its weekly shoot last Wednesday. Th* home-and-home match was won by Melrose.' Details: Island Bay (V. Wilson' 70, B L. White 67, E. B. Pennington 62, A. Boa- 65, P. C. Collier 61, H. R. White 61, A. Montgomery SS), 444; Melrose (A. X. Boag 69, P. Water-worth 66, J. Biddle 65, C. V. Xattrass 64, F. Mawhinney 64, W. Lewis 63. D. Quinn 62), 453. Other individual scores: ■ V.Wilson 67, P. Alquist and A. E. Unswortn 62 each, S. Biddle and P. Unswortn 60 each. V. Wilson and F. Waterworth won the ownstart competition.. The leading rifle score* in this competition were Waterworth 69, Wilson 68, Mawhinney 67, Lewis 66, J. Blddl* 64, K. Turner 62. V. Wilson's team again won in the weekly shoot for the club's badges.
