SUBWAY IMPROVEMENTS SOUGHT

Attention was drawn by" Councillor F. London at the Petone Borough Council meeting last evening to the number of railway-line trespassers who had recently been fined. He considered that the subway should be better lit. Councillors Carr and Martin drew attention to the dirty state of the subway. It was decided to ask the Railways Department to have the subway cleaned and whitewashed and lights placed at the entrance and inside, also that a sign be placed on the platform directing passengers to the subway.

At the request of Councillor Carr the attention of the Railways Department is to be drawn to the inadequate accommodation for passengers on the 8.30 a.m. train to Wellington from Petone.
