FIGHT AROUND TIDDIM
Rec. 9 a.m. RUGBY, October 1. Round Tiddim men of the Fifth Indian Division had successful encounters with small Japanese groups screening the village, says a Southeast Asia communique. The main advance along the Tiddim road continues. A Japanese river craft, bringing men and supplies up the Kalapanzin River, was ambushed at night and sunk, all the crew being killed. Air activity was continued throughout Burma.—B.O.W.
