YOUNG DRIVER IN COURT

A driver employed by Samuel Brown, Ltd., Leonard John Michael Daly, 18, took a truck home on Saturday without authority, it was stated m the Magistrate's Court today It was noticed during the weekend that the truck was missing from the yard where it was kept and the police were notified. On Sunday evening a constable found . the truck outside Daly's home and Daly made a statement .admitting. taking it then and on other occasions. . Daly pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawful conversion of the vehicle, and his counsel, Mr. J.?A. Scott, while not denying the facts, submitted that it was different from the usual case" of conversion, in that Daly had merely exceeded his authority. There was no intention of conversion, in the usual sense of the word. Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., convicted Daly, but said.he would take his youth into account in sentencing him. He ordered him to come up for sentence within six months if called upon.
