"BATTLE TO VICTORY"

WASHINGTON, June 5.

The Soviet Ambassador in Washington, Mr. Gromyko, decorated General G. C. Marshall, U.S. Army Chief of Staff, with the Order of Suvarov, First Class, the highest Russian honour.

General Marshall, in a speech at • a ceremony at the Russian Embassy, said:—

"The final action in the terrible European war is now focused on a single battle, in which every Allied force will be represented. It will be a battle to the death for the Nazis and a battle to victory for the Allies."
