TICKETS AND BALLOTS

Sir,—As one of those unfortunates who 'waited in the cold to record my vote on Saturday, while many spent a considerable time in separating the candidates on the ballot papers, I see no logical reason why the respective tickets cannot be placed on the ballot paper in a block or bracketed, instead of alphabetically. With such an alteration, voters could easily halve the time taken in recording their vote and lessen the congestion at polling booths. Perhaps it is too much to ask orthodoxminded people to adopt what I consider a common-sense principle, but this suggestion merits attention.—l am, etc" A.G.K. Miramar.
