EARL JELLICOE'S WEDDING

On the day when the award of his Military Cross was announced "for gallant and distinguished services in the field," Earl Jellicoe of Scapa, the only son of the admiral of the last war, was married in the Garrison Chapel at Beirut to Miss Patricia O'Kane, who was on the staff of the British Legation there. He is a fine soldier—a major in the Coldstream Guards—and was a schoolboy when he succeeded to the title in 1935. He is a godson of King George V, and was page to the present King. He won the D.S.O. two years ago. One of his friends is the late Earl Haig's son. Both were born in 1918, the last year of the Great War. Each has George as his first Christian name. Lord Haig is nursing ill-luck in a German prison camp.
