N.Z. AIRMEN HUNT U-BOATS

(Special P.A. Correspondent.) Rec. 12.45 a.m. LONDON, May 1. A Leigh light aircraft, in which the air-gunner is Flight Sergeant H. J. Miilis (Gisbbrne) and the radio operator Flight Sergeant Fred Bailey (Blenheim), recently attacked six U-boats in two operational nights using depthcharges and cannon lire. One U-boat was attacked while on the surface. It defended itself with anti-aircraft fire, but Miilis saw debris after the explosions of depth-charges, which briliahtly lit Up the darkness.
