UNLAWFULLY ON SHIP

An invitation extended by a ships watchman to two young New Zealand airmen to have a look over a ship berthed at the Taranaki Street Wharf resulted in- the appearance of the watchman and of one of the airmen in the Magistrate's Court today. The airman, Roy David Leslie, pleaded guilty to entering the wharf without a permit and to entering the ship without a permit, and was fined £2. The watchman, Alfred William Kent, was charged oi four counts with counselli ing the offences of the two airmen in entering the wharf and the ship without a permit.. He pleaded guilty and was fined £5 by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M. Mr. A. J. Mazengarb appeared for Kent.
