BASES LEASED TO U.S.A.
Bee. 1.15 -p.m. RUGBY, Jan. 20. The Colonial Secretary, Colonel O. Stanley, stated in the House of Commons that the only air bases in the colonies leased to the United States are those in Bermuda and British Guiana. As provided in the exchange of Notes in September, 1940, these leases run for 99 years and neither party has suggested an alteration of that period.—B.O.W.
