WEATHER POSTPONEMENT
PA DUNEDIN, This Day. Heavy rain throughout the night made most of the greens unfit for play this morning. The seventh and eighth games in the fours have been postponed till the afternoon. They will be played under special time limits, probably two and a quarter hours, but the- exact duration will bo determined later according to the weather. Travel restrictions have necessitated, a number of the North Island players with engagements for post-section games leaving earlier than was intended. This matter is giving the tournament committee some concern. It was investigating the position today and will make an announcement tonight of any change in the arrangements.
On a charge of assaulting a young woman, Stanley Edward Alexander Butler, labourer, 18, was placed on probation for six months by Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M., at Upper Hutt yesterday.
