GIRL'S BODY ON LINE
The decapitated body of- Noeline Margaret Phillips aged 16 years, who resided with her parents at 8 Cuba Street, Petone, was found by the engine-driver of a train at 3.5 a.m. today on the railway line between the Petone Railway Station and the Petone Railway crossing. It is presumed that she had been run over by the previous train which passed through Petone about 12.20 a.m.
TRAWLER ABANDONED
P.A. DUNEDIN, This Day. No further attempt has been made to refloat the steam trawler Hananui 11, which went ashore in Ryan's Bay, Otago Peninsula, on December 2, and it is understood that the vessel has been handed over to the underwriters.
