TOM HEENEY PROMOTED

Popular Tom Heeney, after refereeing countless boxing contests in this area in a manner that has given general satisfaction, has been promoted from Seaman Ist Class to Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. It is an appointment that pleases New Zealand boxing fans just as much as it does the Americans.
