HOLIDAY WORK

The board of governors of the Wellington Technical College decided last night to lodge a strong protest to the Education Department against school children being asked to work after the school holidays, as it would disrput the whole of the year's work. With regard to the direction of teachers to work during January by the manpower authorities, the board was of the opinion that, in view of the great amount of sickness among the teaching staff of the college during the past year, teachers within the age groups affected should only be directed to suitable outdoor work.
