NATIONAL PARTY
Organisation for the coming three years was planned by the executive of the Wellington division of the National Party at a recent meeting over which the divisonal chairman, Mr. J. H. McIlroy, presided. The meeting was attended by the following six newlyr elected members of Parliament, representing electorates in the . division: — Messrs. E. B. Corbett (Egmont), W. A. Sheat (Patea), M. H. Oram (Manawatu), G. H. Mackley (Masterton), and C. M. Bowden (Wellington West). They received a special welcome. It was decided to intensify organisation work with the object of enlarging the membership of the party and forming new branches. All electorates were urged to set up special committees to examine present trends and important post-war problems. A resolution was adopted conveying good wishes to the leader of the party, Mr. S. G. Holland, M.P., who is at present in Australia, and assuring him of the continued confidence and loyalty of members of the party in the Wellington division. Special tribute was paid to the work of Mr. Mcllroy, and he was thanked for the, valuable service he had given to the party.
