GERMAN U-BOAT OFFICER
Rec. 12.45 p.m. LONDON, Oct' 7: The commander of the German." submarine station at Kirkenes, in northern Norway, was sentenced to death "for ignoring the fact that the submarines under his command repeatedly put to sea, fired their torpedoes blindly, and returned to report that a large number ot enemy vessels, had been sunk." Reporting this, the Stockholm news* paper "Aftonbladet" adds that the crews of the German vessels stationed in Alta Fiord were recently relieved because of low morale.
