BOMBING OF CONVOY
LONDON, October 7. The German news agency states that German torpedo-planes off the Algerian coast made a low-level attack on an Allied convoy of 80 ships which was sailing in an easterly direction. "One ship after another was hit and left damaged or burning," it stated. "A fully-laden 10,000-ton transport which was also carrying munitions, blew up and sank before lifeboats could a* lowered. A second transport of similar tonnage received a direct hit. 1*
