UNFORTUNATE JOKE

Kiwi Concert Party in Difficulties

An unfortunate practical joke was played upon the Kiwi Concert Party last night, when, probably immediately after the performance, when the back of the stage was overrun by visitors, official and otherwise, someone took the wig: worn by Phil Jay, the brunette of the Kiwis' pair of female impersonators. This is funny only to the person who has the wig and those of his friends who are in the joke. To the Kiwis it is not funny, for the whole show revolves round the blonde and the brunette. The wig, too, is worth a lot of money to the Kiwis, and is worth nothing to anyone else. More than that, it cannot be replaced at short notice. It may, of course, all be a mistake, but however the wig came to be taken away, the whole Kiwi Party makes an appeal that it be returned to the manager's office at the Opera House, in time for tonight's performance.
