VOTERS' SERVICE

All political candidates were present by invitation at a voters' service held on Sunday evening in the Church of Christ, Lower Hutt. The Rev. A. D. Lowe was the preacher. During the course of the sermon, Mr. Lowe emphasised the relevance of the timeless doctrines of the Christian religion when applied to everyday problems. The doctrines of the sovereignty of God and the sacredness of man's personality, said the speaker, should result in a radical political programme recognising the • common ownership of land and wealth. He appealed for New Zealand to set a new goal in international relationships by a concerted endeavour to give service to the whole world of men.

Mrs. E. Liebezeit was the organist.
