WELLINGTON WEST
Speaking at the Aro Street Mission Hall last evening, Mrs. C. S. Stewart (Labour) stated that women had a rightful place in public affairs, and when returned to office she would continue to work for still better conditions for the members of her sex. Her Government had gone a long way in this direction, and had already laid a solid foundation. In reply to an interjection, the candidate stated that in spite of war conditions the living and social conditions had been maintained. The meeting, concluded with a vote of thanks and confidence.
