DESTRUCTION OF PESTS
SHOTGUN AMMUNITION
An announcement that 250,000 round* of shotgun ammunition were being released this week and that an endeavour would be made to arrange for monthly supplies in future, was made by the Minister of Supply (Mr. "Sullivan) in the House of Representatives last night during a discussion on the destruction 6f rabbits.
Mr. Sullivan added that the distribution of the ammunition would be through ordinary trade channels, but he thought farmers would have to obtain permits from stock inspectors;
After the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr. Parry) had urged those dealing with rabbits to use traps, rather than, poison, thus avoiding the destruction of bird life, the Minister of Agriculture (Mr. Barclay) said that a supply of traps was on the way to the Dominion.
