TOJO AT SINGAPORE
Rec. 9 a.m. TOKIO, July 5. The Domei news agency announced that General Tojo had arrived at Singapore on a tour of inspection of the southern regions. The purpose of the | trip was stated to be to prepare a new I policy for the southern regions. Tojo will also confer with Marshal Terauchi, supreme commander Of the Japanese expeditionary forces in the southern areas.
Tqkio radio stated that Japan and Thailand, in a joint communique, had announced an agreement under which Thailand annexed four of the five unfederated Malay States, Perils, Kedah, Kelantan, and Trengganu, and two north-eastern Burmese provinces, the Shan States Mongpan and Keng-tung. Tojo conferred with Songgram in Bangkok before visiting Singapore.
