REPORT FROM RUSSIA

Rec. 2 p.m. : LONDON, July 2. The Russians have given no indication of any movements larger than local forays, but Berlin radio declared today that the Red Army had completed preparations for a summer offensive. The Russians hold the initiative on the Moscow front, according to Vichy radio, which added that the Russians are worrying the German positions in order to. frustrate their preparations for attack. ' Reuters Moscow correspondent re^ ported that the Russians raided in darkness German trenches in the Byelgorod region, smashed pill-boxes, and safely withdrew after frustrating a German attempt to cut off their retreat. The Tass (Russian) news agency announces that a Soviet woman bomberpilot, Mahia Ivanova, aged 22, has been decorated for exploits which she carried tout in 125 operational flights in 70 days at the front, including many,at night.
