NAZI PROPAGANDA

DAY OF INVASION

LONDON, July .2.

The Germans have named tomorrdw, July 3, as the date of the Allied invasion of the European Continent. The Germans quote so-called "London sources" for their information, and tonight Paris radio cynically said: "The eve of the great day has arrived. It is no longer a question of days or hours, or even of minutes. To be first with the news of the sensational arrival of the Allied troops we have sent a team of reporters to all the points where the Anglo-Saxons are likely to try a landing in France. This team of radio reporters will keep listeners informed about developments."

The motives of this propaganda are, of course' apparent. The "Germans have built up this date, and if it passes off with no invasion they will say there was a hitch in our plans. Another motive is to try to induce the Allies to indicate what the actual date will be.
