NATIONAL CANDIDATES
P.A. - AUCKLAND, July 2. Eight, official National Party candidates for the Auckland seats at the General Election were announced by the Auckland division of the party today. They are:—Auckland Central, Mr. W G. S. Swabey; Auckland East, Mr. H. T. Merritt; Auckland Suburbs, Mi1. T. A. Bishop; Mount Eden, LieutColonel W. H. Fortune; Franklin, Mr. J. N. Massey, M.P.; Grey Lynn, Miss Ellen Melville; Onehunga, Mr. J. Park; Roskill, Captain R. G. McElroy. ■-The sitting National members in the South Auckland electorates have also been confirmed as the party's official candidates at the election. These are:— Bay of Plenty, Mr. W. Sullivan; Hauraki, Mr. A. S. Sutherland; Tauranga, Mr. F.W. Doidge; Waikato, Mr. W. S. Goosman; Waitomo, Mr. W. J. Broadfoot . . ' , Announcements will be made later in the month of the party's official can-: didates for Auckland West, Bay of Islands, Hamilton, Marsden, Otanuhu, Raglan^ Rotorua, Thames, and Waitemata. ■ ■ , Mr. A. J. Murdoch, at one time Minister of Agriculture, and Mr. R. K. Trimmer, solicitor, and now an aircraftman, have been nominated for selection as Nationalist candidates for the Marsden seat. ■
