The Senate completed the Congressional action on the 71,500 million dollar War Department Appropiation Bill, providing funds for the new fiscal year three times as large as the cost to the nation of the last war. '
The Bill provides more than 500----000 million for the1 purchase of 100,000 army planes. ■• . The United States ended the fiscal year with a record expenditure of more than 76,000 million dollars.. Receipts, totalled more than 21.000 million dol T lars, leaving a deficit of more than 55,000 million dollars. The gross public debt amounts to 140,000 million dollars and the total war expenditure to 71,000 million dollars, compared with 26,000 million dollars' last year.
