ANTI-STRIKE BILL
PROGRESS AT WASHINGTON (Rec. 2.15 P^> SfflNGToN> June n> The House of Representatives passed the Anti-strike Bill by 219 votes to 129. The measure outlaws strikes m Gov-ernment-operated plants and prohibits strikes in other war industries unless 30 flays' notice has been given and approved by the workers in a secret balThe Bill strengthens the War Labour Board's power to settle disputes. It prescribes as penalties a year's imprisonment and a fine of 5000 dollars for any person who induces, coerces, conspires with, o rencourages another to interrupt production in a Gov-ernment-operated plant. It forbids the War Labour Board sanctioning the closed shop or maintenance of membership contracts.
