Free Ambulance Party. ' An afternoon entertainment has been arranged by the ladies' auxiliary of the Free Ambulance and will be held at the central station on Wednesday, March 31.: Particulars are advertised in this issue. New Plunket Rooms. The H&taitai sub-committee will open its new Plunket rooms on Wednesday, March 24. -All residents are invited. Gymnastics and Recreation. Railways Assist Y.W.C.A. Services. The Y.W.C.A. has been able to extend its services to women and girls in need of, overnight accommodation, through' the courtesy of Mr. E. Casey, General Manager of Railways. The ladies' rest lounge at the railway station will provide eight comfortable shakedowns when the situation in the city warrants their use. This service will be in. operation from next Monday, and > will be in addition to the accommodation for transient guests at the.Boulcbtt Street Hostel. Staffed by voluntary senior members of the Y.W.C.A., accommodation there can only be procured through booking at the Y.W.C.A. accommodation bureau, 5 Boulcott Street. Karort Townswomen. War work completed by the Karori Townswomen's Guild (Dom. Fed.), during the year comprised 191 knitted articles for Air Force Relations, 570 papier mache splints, and a number of camouflaged nets, stated a report presented at the recent annual meeting. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mrs. Flockton; vice-president. Mrs. Board-! man; secretary, Mrs. Woodall; treasurer, Mrs. Simpson; committee, Mesdames Collins.
