PASSES IN ECONOMICS
The New Zealand University announces that passes in economics for the Masters Degree have been obtained at Victoria College as follows :—M.A., Mary K. Kent, pass; Grotto. G. C. Kickicll, pass. M.Com. and Honours, W. Rosenberg, first clnss.
From time to time the Petone Borough Council has protested to the Railway Department and the Gear Meat Company on the blocking of Te Puni Street by trucks on the meat company's siding. The council last evening decided to request the police to take action, failing which the offi* cers of the council were instructed to take civil action against the party or parties responsible. Councillor A. G. Steffensen said that residents using the street had on" many occasions to climb over trucks.
In the Magistrate's Court, Te Aroha, D. Lewis, storekeeper, Waihou, was fined £10, with costs, for selling a pound of butter for Is 7d, the Price Tribunal rate being Is 6d, states the Press Association. The defendant said he considered he could make a booking charge.
