SIDI BOUZAID FIGHT
LONDON, February 3. Describing the attack on the French positions near Sidi Bouzaid on Saturday, a correspondent at Allied headquarters states that the enemy sent tanks, supported by artillery and infantry. The attack began at 7.30 a.m. The French infantry which had been holding the pass for two months put up a fierce defence, supported by Allied fighters and bombers, which successfully attacked enemy tanks ; and vehicles in a series of raids. The enemy succeeded in advancing about six miles to the outskirts of Sidi Bouzaid, an important road junction, where fighting is still proceeding. Boston bombers escorted by Warhawks made four bombing raids on the enemy force, in one of which they set 12 tanks on fire.
