Eve,, Pilot Officer G. G. Thomas (Auckland) and Flight Sergeant F. Murphy (Wellington) sighted Messerschmitts flying at wave-top height. Each selected a German. One was chased 50 miles and the other 20 miles, and both were shot down. The squadron's total is now 80&.'
