! The lull in northern Tunisia ended on Christmas Eve, when . guards at sundown attacked a ridge held by the enemy six miles north-north-east of Mejez el Bab, on the west side of the Tebourb.a road. XA series of attacks, which lasted 14 hours, says a correspondent at headquarters, was made on a front of 1200 i yards. Guards finally took high points, but not the highest in this ridge, which holds a commanding position overlooking Mejez and the country to the east. I The long slopes offer little cover from :trees. .:■■';. .■'■•.■' :.:■ ... .: ■,' \ Tunis, La Goulette, and Susa were bombed on Christmas night, and aeroI dromes in Sicily were ground-strafed. Considerable , damage was done to j [grounded aircraft at one of these aero-j dromes. From these operations one British aircraft is missing, but the crew are safe.—B.O.W.
