A GARDEN PARTY
RELATIVES OF PRISONERS
OF WAR
More than 150 relatives of New Zealand men who are prisoners of war were entertained on Saturday at a garden party held at Mrs. W. E. Herbert's residence and arranged by the women's section of the Wellington R.S.A. Mrs. C. H. Weston, president of the section, accompanied by Mrs. G. B. Parkinson, hon. secretary, and Mr. J. Abel, chairman of the Red Cross grisoners of war committee, greeted le guests as they arrived. Many of those present had met before at similar gatherings and exchanged news with those with relatives in the same camps, but there were also many present whose relatives had only recently been listed as prisoners of war. Several members of the Red Cross Prisoner- of War Inquiry Office attended the party and answered queries, and Mrs. J. W. Jack assistant-editor of the Prisoner of War News Sheet, was also present. Tea was served up on the upper terraces by Mrs. Weston and her R.S.A. helpers.
