WHY SUNDAY?

Sir,—Many thousands of your readers in Wellington would like to know the reason for fixing the E.P.S. trial at a quarter to eight on Sunday morning. It seems to me that rery little consideration was shown to Christian congregations ,by the authorities responsible for this trial, apart from the fact that people were kept in a state of nervous tension from 5 p.m. on Saturday for no apparent reason. Surely the time has come for the leaders of our churches to make a strong protest to the Prime Minister against the frequent use of Sunday for these E.P.S. and Home Guard stunts.
-Am I right in assuming that the time for these trials is left to the Regional
Commissioner for Civil Defence or has Mr. Fraser and his Cabinet still power to act for the people of this country? I think the public would appreciate a statement from the Prime Minister on this matter. —I am, etc.,
