ROLLING ON

THE EIGHTH ARMY

GROWING PRESSURE

(By Trtegraph—Press Association— Copyright,) ! (Bee. 2 p.m.) LONDON, v Nov. 16. : The Eighth Army in Libya is now approaching the Jebel el Akdar region, 50 miles beyond Derna. Long-range fighters operating from the newly won Martuba air base are strafing the dwindling Afrika Korps as far as El Agheila. „ ■_ , The correspondent of the Exchange Telegraph Company with the Eighth Army; says: "Qur pursuit rolls on. There is the same story day after day of road blocks, torn out by German dynamite, sometimes the dimensions of a landslide, as at Sollum and Halfaya, where whole sides of a mountain were torn down. Bridges over wadis have been destroyed and thousands of mines scattered in the sands along the margins of the road, with sharp-point-ed nail 3 thrown on the innocent surface of the road, but despite all difficulties and the strain on vehicles and drivers, the great army is rolling steadily forward, with our armour in direct contact with the fleeing enemy." Berlin radio stated that the British Army's pressure in Libya was increasing, "They are taking advantage of the numerous roads and the rocky ground," it stated, "to bring up heavy weapons and push with growing strength against the flanks of the German rearguards/ Reuters correspondent on the.German frontier says it is authentically reported that Field-Marshal Rommel is in Munich completing important discussion's with Hitler, Himmler, and others. ■
