INCREASING NUMBER OF
GUESTS
The members of Webby's Club were present in large numbers during the weekend to entertain their ever-in-creasing numbers of servicemen and returned soldier guests. Home-made suppers are a feature of the club entertainment, and an excellent band and novelty items add to the gaiety oi" the atmosphere. On Sunday evening the ballroom was crowded. Activities will, until further notice, be carried on in Miss Kathleen O'Connors studio, opposite the club premises. NEW CANTEEN POPULAR. The Grosvenor Club ballroom and lounges were crowded on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Gratitude wais expressed to Miss Pat Cottle for donating the Monte Carlo prizes and also to Mrs. P. Bramley and Mr. C. Nichols for supplying the music. Sunday evening teas are becoming very popular in the new cdnteen, and donations of home-made "cookies" would be much appreciated. These could be left at the clubrooms on Sunday afternoons. Girls on duty at the weekend included Misses B. Haynes, C. Ferguson, M. Chappell, and T. Davies. | LONDON'S APPRECIATION. i A letter of appreciation of the work done in Wellington has been received from the British Sailoi-s' Society Headquarters, London, and advice to the effect that they are sending out a cinesound projector. The rooms of the society have been well patronised and on Saturday a trip was made by ferry !to Day's Bay. In the evening the : accommodation of the premises was taxed to capacity. Mr. Matheson. of the Tin Hat Club, entertained with conI juring tricks, and Mr. F. Rillstone by lightning cartoons. Items were also given by Misses B. Glen and R. Thompson. Weekend hostesses were Misses M. McCallum and N. Fenton. The Sunday night service was conducted |by Mr. L. Jacobson.
