WELLINGTON CRICKET
The question of strengthening the teams in the senior cricket competition by amalgamation was reopened at a meeting of the Wellington Cricket Association's management committee last night, when, reviewing first-of-season form, an opinion was expressed that there were too many weak teams. Against this the point was made that clubs'in the main had not favoured amalgamation when the issue was raised with them. In discussion it was also mentioned that the teams might be subject to regrading in December. A decision was made that a meeting of delegates be held on December 7 to review the position. The Midland-Wel-lington Club wrote withdrawing two teams from the fourth grade, and the Onslow Club intimated that it was compelled to withdraw its D team from the same grade.
