APPEALS FOR TEACHERS

The executive of the Wellington Education Board recommended that endeavours should be made to have released immediately all class 2 and class 3 teachers known to be in camp, and also all teachers over 41 years of age. To this the board agreed at its meeting on Wednesday.

d It was also resolved that in cases where there was only one senior male teacher in a school the board should appeal for such teacher to remain in the E.P.S. since, if he v/as posted to the Home Guard, his duty would be ■with that body, and he would not be enabled to perform his duties in connection with the protection of the children in a case of emergency.
