The Germans immediately shot 287 Croats as a reprisal for the shooting of ohe German, says Reuters correspondent on the German frontier. More than 10,000 people are in concentration camps in Croatia under the guard of Croatian storm troopers, and 120,000 men and women workers are reported to .have been deported forcibly to Germany.

"Enemy planes recently flew over Serbia in ah attempt-to make contact with the disloyal population and dropped various objects/ says?a communique from the German military commander in Serbia, published in the Belgrade newspaper "Novo Vreme." "The planes were guided by fires, and the population of the districts in which these fires were lit will be severely punished for rendering this assistance or for not preventing it."
