KILLED BY BOMBING
NAZI TYRANT DIES IN OSLO RAID LONDON, September 28. In the raid on Oslo on Friday the Mosquitoes' bombs killed 30 Gestapo officials, ten of whom died in the "cellar of torture" beneath i the Gestapo building in Victoria Terrace, where political prisoners were "cross-examined," says the Stockholm correspondent of the "Daily Express." A bomb crashed through into the cellar before exploding and wiped the officials out. They included ObersturmFuhrer Bernardt, whose cruelty has
made his name infamous throughout Norway. He commanded the expedition which savagely punished the Lofoten Islanders after the first British commando raid in 1941. Several German officers were also killed, including the first aide-de-camp to the German police chief in Oslo, General Rediess. High Storm Trooper officials are still buried under the ruins. , . ~, ~ The Germans are trying to hide the effects of the raid. The official list of casualties gives only seven killed and 67 injured.
