THREE MORE AWARDS
MEN OF NEW ZEALAND
SPITFIRES
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) (Special Correspondent.) (Rec. 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 14. Three more D.F.C.'s have been awarded to the New Zealand Spitfire Squadron—Squadron Leader R. Grant, D.F.M. (Auckland), who is commanding officer, Flight Lieutenant M. Shand (Wellington), and Flight Lieutenant R. W. Baker (Dunedin), the squadron's flight commanders, have received them. Mr. T. A.. Barrow, the New Zealand Air Secretary, was among the first to congratulate them, for he visited the Spitfire Squadron and the Hurricane night fighters the same evening as the awards were announced.
