DRIVE FOR SHANGHAI SOON
(Rec. 11.30 a.m.) CHUNGKING, August 13. Marking the fifth anniversary of the start of the Battle of Shanghai, the army newspaper "Takung Pao" asserted that the nation was determined to counter-attack soon and regain the city. The "Central China Daily News," lamenting the fact that China did not have a large air force in 1937, believes that the tide is definitely turning with the arrival of United States flyers, and expresses the hope that they will drive the Japanese planes from China's skies and carry the cattle to the enemy in his own islands.
